Big Mac Salad Bowl

While a Big Mac isn’t my burger of choice from McD’s, I have always loved the flavors! Since I have been trying to cut the carbs, this salad hits all the same notes in a salad that helps get more veggies in. Another recipe that comes together very quickly for those busy weeknights. I do not make my own Thousand Island dressing since it’s not high carb, but you certainly can if you prefer. I thin out the dressing with white vinegar and add some garlic powder. This recipe makes two generous salads.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

  • 4 cups romaine lettuce, chopped

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 3 dill pickle spears, sliced

  • sesame seeds to garnish

  • 1/3 cup Thousand Island dressing

  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Directions

  • Add the beef, diced onion, salt and pepper to a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the beef has cooked through, drain excess fat.
  • Divide the lettuce between two bowls.
  • Top the lettuce with the beef, shredded cheese and pickles.
  • Mix salad dressing, vinegar and garlic powder together. Pour evenly between salads.
  • Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
